Darth Darbar Is Coming!
Behold! (Mega Optic Blast)
The Darth Darbar approaches ominously towards the township of Mississauga. He has wrecked havoc upon the citizens of North Carolina and we are no match for his Mack-attude ways. We must hide our women, and make our time. ETA is Sat, Aug 27th, around 1100-1200 hours.
For Great Justice! For we have received from a trustworthy source the only means of stopping Darth Darbar from his Mack-ing ways (he holds the first ever Ph.D in Mackology) is to occupy him with hour after hour of incessant talking, endless gaming, and the occasional absorption of sustenance.
For our women, for our children, for our own very livelihoods we must take upon this grim task of entertaining the Darth Darbar.
I must be frank. Men, this will not be an easy task. The Darth Darbar has unquenchable stamina, and the slightest signs of boredom will surely lead to our demise. But worry not! Our months of training in the arts of Nojumpitsu has not been for naught. I firmly believe that we have the 1337ness to pull this off. This task, however, demands as much man-power as we can afford.
We must select a suitable location for confrontation with Darth Darbar. Our optimum battlefield is the Plains of Nguyen-Huu, for the landscape is wide and the pits are few. Should that locale not be suitable, then the Hills of Zaphod must do.
So, all ye brave Nins of Tendo, valiant Plas of Ysation, and righteous Exs of Box, hear my call! Come forth and stand tall for your kingdoms so that, upon our victory over the Dark Side of the Fors, that you may one day tell your children, and your children's children, and your children's children's parent's parent, that you were there upon the battlefield against Darth Darbar, that you fought against the Dark Master of Throw-throw-punch, and conquered the sinister sweeping-Fors technique that have oh slayed so many of our kin. For this battle is not only for the future, but also for the past!

Update for July!
Hi ho, enough stuff happened to warrant an update. (Actually, I’m typing this up in Mont Tremblant. I brought my laptop up with me for movies/emulator, but haven’t used much of it. However, since there’s no Internet, my time isn’t eaten up by surfing and games. Hence I have time to type this up)
Hmm, most prominent on my mind are the events in the past couple days, in Mont Tremblant:
Friday - Woke up a bit later than planned, but got on the road relatively early still. Had a couple of small traffic jams along the way, but we didn’t get lost, so that’s good. Stopped for some lunch, entire trip took about 7, 7 ½ hours.
After booking into the hotel spent a couple hours looking around the village. Went up and played a round of luge. It’s pretty nifty, you take ski lifts up a hill, and then you sit in a sled with wheels and a handle bar. The course is Initial-D like, with quite a few of hair pin turns and such, pretty fun. Ate at one of the many restaurants at the village, quite expensive, and the food wasn’t very worth it.
Saturday - Buffet breakfast at the hotel is pretty good, can make your own waffles, so that’s pretty neat. Opted to make my own Sausage n’ Egg McMuffin, they had nacho cheese sauce available, but not real cheese, go figure. Rented bikes for a bike trail ride after breakfast, the ride was pretty hilly, and my legs ran out of gas about 70% of the way. Had to struggle a bit to make it back, boy am I out of shape. We went for a cheaper place to eat for lunch, went to a pizza place, still pricey, but not as ultra ultra as the night before.
Went to ride ATVs after lunch, they’re pretty fun. It’s like you become Ganondorf for 2 hours, because you simply tank through everything on the road. Fastest I went was 50 km/h, and with the wind in your face, pretty exhilarating.
The scenery at Tremblant is very pretty. Many trees and creeks; saw a deer while we were on the bike trail, very neat. A good opportunity to marvel at nature’s grandeur and majesty.
Sunday - Made a croissant sausage n’ egg sandwich for breakfast; so Burger King instead of McDonald’s. Morning event was horseback riding, which was fairly fun overall. I had the least fun, because my horse didn’t like me or the way I was riding it (it’s been quite a few years since I last rode a horse, totally forgot how to hold the reins and control the horse), so he didn’t obey my “orders”. Kept trying to go the other way (back to the ranch) and tried to feed me into branches and trees. I switched horses with my uncle half way into the guided tour, and the new horse was considerably better. My old horse didn’t give my uncle any problems either; albeit he does have more horseback riding experience =p Actually, while riding on the horse I felt like a human player on a mount going through Elwynn forest, ha ha.
Went back to the hotel for a quick lunch and then we were off for family rafting. One word of caution for those who will visit Tremblant: they try to squeeze purchases out of you everywhere, and we’re quite sure the Activity Centre adds a hefty commission percentage charge to the activities they outsource. I say this because the Activity Centre told us to meet the driver for the family rafting trip outside a shop that sells the equipment for water sports (in fact we have to sign some forms there), and they make you buy/rent shoes if you’re not wearing appropriate footwear. They could’ve easily mentioned this when you made the reservation at the Activity Centre, but alas, they want you to buy more stuff (since they charge an extra 2% “Tremblant tax” on every purchase there).
Anywho, family rafting was fun, although they were a bit ill-prepared. For some reason they were 2 adult lifejackets short, and we ended up waiting like an hour before they got more to the site, quite poor planning. But once we got onto the water it was pretty fun, we were on the better boat since we were only stuck mildly (on rocks) about 3 times, while the other boat were stuck at least 7 times and had to people fall into the water. I lost balance twice, but I was holding onto the rope as well as my uncle helping me regain my balance. Overall a very fun experience, it’s like a prolonged roller coaster ride with beautiful scenery in between drops.
Back to the hotel after rafting, started playing Phantasy Star 3 on emulator =p So begins endless levelage so I don’t get ninja’d by maze-like dungeons, muhahahaha.
On another note, seems like Diablo 2 got another patch, rather unexpectedly. So maybe I’ll be playing some of that for the next week or two as well.
Monday - We decided to visit the Biodome in Montreal before we headed home. Left Tremblant around 9:30 and got the Biodome around 11. Spent around 2 hours there looking at various birds, reptiles and fishes; was pretty interesting. Then came the 7 hour trek back from Montreal, with a stop for lunch and another washroom break. Overall traffic wasn’t too bad; we hit a really big thunderstorm a bit after Kingston and the traffic was really slow for about 30 km on and off. Had dinner in Markham and was home around 10:30 tonight.
Other stuff that happened:
Got my mount for WoW! Grinded from level 40 to 42 to muster the necessary cash, but it was worth it. Haven’t played WoW in awhile though, busy with family outings on weekends and Starcraft on weeknights.
Spent a weekend at a cottage/lounge in Algonquin Park. The small house is located on an island in a small lake, with limited electricity supply. There was no A/C or television, the point was for the visitors to spend some quite time away from all the hustle and bustle of the metropolis life. So that was an interesting and fun experience, spent most the time there reading Harry Potter books (though I haven’t continued reading since that trip, heh). I must say that the HP books themselves (at least the first 1 ½ books) are not too bad. An interesting read for adults and kids.
Stuff that will happen:
Gotta think of something to write for a work report, crap (because I haven’t done much at work except matching numbers or entering data; plus what I’ve done has been much too varied to warrant a report of any single aspect).
Uncle leaves this Saturday morning, which means, besides my work report and such, I’ll be once again up for stuff for majority of the weekend (Sunday until lunch and dinner will most probably be spent with Dad). So message if stuff is up (though chances are I’ll just drop by DB’s on the weekend and Jia’ll be there anyway)
More games! (of some sort….)
Will be reading the Gamefaqs summer contest board, posters there crack me up, some of them take this contest way too seriously, but it makes for funny reads as they troll and flame one another.
Next update likely when I move back into Wen’s townhouse in Waterloo and I’ve nothing else to do =P
